EAS SYSTEM

MEDIA SUMMARY INFORMATION

NetGain Technologies, LLC announces an economic and environmental technology breakthrough. NetGain Technologies, LLC has a newly developed patent pending product, called EAS™, which converts an existing gasoline, or diesel fueled vehicle to a hybrid vehicle. Major benefits to the system’s users will be greater fuel economy and longer vehicle life. Also, with the greater fuel economies, engine emissions will be reduced and provide the environmental benefits that hybrids provide.

The one distinctive breakthrough feature, however, for the EAS™ system, is that it is designed to be installed on existing vehicles! Even with increasing sales of new hybrid vehicles, non-hybrid vehicles will continue to make-up over 98% of all vehicles on the road in the United States and across the world for years to come. EAS™ will allow many of the vehicles now on the road to derive the benefits of hybrid technologies.

The EAS™ conversion can be completed in less than one day. Initial tests both in the lab and in the field have shown savings in the range of 15 – 25% of normal fuel consumption. Since EAS™ is installed as a fully integrated system for the vehicle, the driver does not need any special training or instructions to operate the system.

The initial EAS™ system development and testing has been focused on Class II trucks, like package delivery or local bread delivery type vehicles, since they have, on average, poor fuel efficiency and remain part of the fleet for 10-15 years. This provides the greatest savings opportunity for the fleet manager, the business and the environment. For example, a fleet owner who would convert 25 trucks that each average 18,000 miles per year at 7 MPG and pays $3.00 per gallon of gasoline. Using a 20% EAS™ efficiency savings, each vehicle would save over $1500 per year or over $38,000 annually. Using estimated fleet pricing for all the needed parts, including the EAS™ System, the simple payback of this conversion would be about 2.4 years. And the fleet owner would be helping the environment with lower emissions on every vehicle that was converted.

Future testing is aimed at smaller vehicles like the Chevy Blazer and other smaller trucks, used for postal deliveries. These vehicles are in fleets and will also be part of the world system for many years. The Class II trucks and smaller fleet trucks currently number over 8 million just in the United States. In 2006, there were over 862 million vehicles (cars, trucks and buses) registered across the world with new vehicles numbering 68 million. Of those new vehicles, as rapidly as hybrid sales have increased, only 378 thousand or .6% (six tenths of one percent) were added to the world system.

EAS™ Facts

The Electric Assist System (EAS™) is a patent pending technology developed by NetGain Technologies, LLC that utilizes an electric motor configured into the drive train of a conventional vehicle to assist the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) by applying strategic amounts of electrical assist power when it is most beneficial to the fuel economy of the vehicle.

EAS™ is comprised of an electric motor attached to the vehicle’s drive train, batteries to power the motor and a control system, called EMIS (Engine Motor Interface System). EMIS is what allows both the motor and the engine to power the vehicle during the drive cycle at the times which creates the greatest fuel efficiency overall. The EAS™  electric motors are most efficient at speeds from 0-20 miles per hour and a gasoline engine is most efficient at higher speeds. EMIS directs the electric motor at all speeds to maximize the fuel efficiency of both power sources.

EAS™ is manufacturer-neutral in that EAS™ is able to adapt to most vehicle maker’s design. With the EAS™ system's patent pending technologies, the choice of motor, fuel, battery and other components (excepting only EMIS) are determined by the user, based on the existing vehicle’s needs and vendor relationships.

Deployment of EAS™ results in better fuel economy (as well as lower pollution) and reduced wear and tear on the engine and transmission.

Reduced load on the engine/transmission and increased fuel economy mean fewer repairs and longer useful lives.
